On April 23, 2025, a draft amendment to the Law on the National Court Register and certain other laws was published, which could significantly ease the burden on entrepreneurs. The Ministry of Justice has proposed abolishing the requirement to publish in the Monitor Sądowy i Gospodarczy (MSiG) some of the entries made in the KRS. The change is expected to translate into a reduction in costs and administrative burdens for companies.

No more duplication of information?

The main goal of the proposed amendment is to simplify procedures related to business registration obligations. Currently, a lot of information from the KRS also goes to the MSiG - despite the fact that the KRS itself is publicly available and already serves as the main source of data on business entities. The ministry points out that in today's reality, the obligation to announce entries in two places is simply unnecessary.

What's more, the MSiG is struggling with overload - as much as more than 75% of the announcements published there concern only the submission of financial documents. The scale of the influx of information causes delays that negatively affect economic turnover and data transparency.

Who will benefit from the changes?

The exemption from the obligation to publish in the Monitor will cover more than 700,000 entities registered with the National Court Register. For many companies, this means concrete savings - both in time and money. At the same time, the reduction in paperwork is systemic and is part of a broader trend of digitization and automation of administration.

Additional changes to the KRS

In addition to issues related to announcements in the MSiG, the bill also provides for other changes:

  • Access to data via APIs - Public entities and those performing public tasks will be able to access information from the KRS via web services, among other APIs. This will be decided by the Minister of Justice.
  • Electronization of the register of associations - it is envisaged that there will be a full transition to an electronic form for the submission of applications and maintenance of registration files for associations, foundations, social and professional organizations, as well as public health care institutions.
  • Abandoning obligations for municipalities - It is planned to repeal the obligation for municipalities to provide paper registration forms for general partnerships, which have long been registered exclusively online anyway.

Summary

The draft amendment to the KRS is a step toward streamlining the registration system in Poland. The abolition of the obligation to duplicate notices and the further digitization of procedures are in line with the need to rationalize the obligations of entrepreneurs. If the new regulations come into effect, entrepreneurs can expect less paperwork, faster access to data and lower legal costs.
